Sunday Runday 2022 in review

I ran a tournament (almost) every month in 2022. I called these events ‘Sunday Runday’ because rhymes are an excellent mnemonic aid, and one day a month of Netrunner is about right for me and my family these days (although September and October’s events were much longer and more involved). I hoped that these events would provide a periodic opportunity for Melbourne’s Netrunner scene to come together and jam some games. This essay will recap some highlights and lessons learned over the year, illustrated by clips from the FXX series You’re the Worst.

Mandatory Upgrades: expanding your collection from Startup to Standard

Startup format has been really popular since the release of System Gateway in April 2021. Since then it has expanded to include Midnight Sun, the first set in the Borealis cycle. Later this year Null Signal Games will release Parhelion, the second set in the Borealis cycle. The Ashes cycle will then ‘rotate out’ of…

Successful demonstration: the 2022 PAX Australia report

Netrunner went to PAX Australia this year! Along with a crack team of volunteers from around the country, I ran the Null Signal Games booth TT1340. Find the Message: a belated Worlds 2021 report

On the weekend of November 20 I attended my third NISEI World Championship. Because of ‘all this’, it was held via jinteki.net and Discord. This report will discuss the decks that I played (still legal in Standard format!), and my impressions of the day. Why am I publishing this? Perhaps readers will find some points…

A selection of Startup decks (June, 2021)

Lots of players are enjoying NISEI’s new Startup format. The limited cardpool is a welcome change from Standard, and also offers its own deck-building challenges. For those who’d rather just jump in and play, I’ve gathered up some of my favourites from NRDB (June, 2021). Haas-Bioroid Haas-Bioroid: Precision Design – Rush PD Haas-Bioroid: Architects of…
